A national level technical festival cum exhibition showcasing the prowess of the state's premier engineering institute College of Engineering, Trivandrum . With frugal innovation as the theme,DRISHTI is going to be a one of a kind experience for all who are a part of it.
Drawing inspiration from CETEX, CET’s technical exhibition, the students wished to revive the long-lost Drishti. Limited resources prevented positive initiatives towards holding the event. Even now, the students have started from scratch but expect to rope in sponsors to fund this mega event.
“Financing an exclusive technical festival on such a large scale was the primary problem. This being a government college and with no separate fund set apart for this we have to rely solely on sponsorships to finance it,” says the Event Convenor, Vivek Menon.

Drishti promises tons of events. Sidharth Varma, the Sponsorship Convenor says, “What stands out from other fests is the exclusive techfest and not the usual mix of cultural and techfest. The stand-out events thet Drishti provides would be like a breath of fresh air.”
Challenging and intriguing events include King’s cross, aquarocket, hackathon, electronic hexathlon, Prince of Gotham and so on. The Glider design and fabrication workshop to be conducted by Aerotrix, the brainchild of IIT Kanpur graduates would be a chance for the students to pick some of the most brilliant brains in the country. The platform has also been set for Young Engineers, an exclusive event for school students where they can showcase their innovative ideas or models.
The long gap that followed the last Drishti would be morale-dampening for most. Event Convenor Vivek says, “We’re attempting to revive something that had faded from memory. In the end, we have come up with a technical festival that would be at par or sometimes, even better than the techfests of NITs.”
With some of the brightest minds to throng the campus in September, CET prepares to welcome them with a wide array of challenges. On being asked about the expectations from the festival, Sidharth is enthusiastic, “CET is a quality brand. People would want to see what we have dished out for them.”
